WHO WE ARE:
OUR HISTORY
In the year of 1988, in the living room of Daniel Dolcine and Marie Carmel Dolcine, took birth this ministry, Bethesda Tabernacle of the Christian Missionary Alliance Inc. The ministry was consisted of the following members: Daniel Dolcine and wife Marie Carmel Dolcine, their children Elna Jenny and Samuel Dolcine, Edner Belval, Roberte Dorsainvil, Agnes Paul, and a pastor as their leader.
A month later, a building was rented to facilitate the worship service as well as bible study in a weekly basis. As days went by, some other people such as: Rosette Pomaphil and her kids, Micler Louis, Inocia Roseme, Monique Auguste and her kids, Levoyant Derisca and his family, Jean Julio Auguste, Wilson Emmanuel, Rody Pierre, just to name a few, joined the congregation. According to the pioneers, they moved to different locations until 1994 God allowed them to purchase a building which was transformed to a worship's center. Together, they worshipped the Lord peacefully until 2002. In the mid of that year due to a non-resolved leadership issue, a reformation was made and gave birth to Bethesda Tabernacle of the Christian Community of Palm Beach. As a continuity of the existing ministry, Bethesda Tabernacle of the Christian Community of Palm Beach officiously started in October 27, 2002, at the holiday Inn hotel, in Boynton Beach by a group of devoted brothers and sisters in Christ with an effective of 185 people.
Without a presence of a senior pastor, this group of brothers and sisters began to have worship service every Sunday morning consecutively until a few weeks after appeared officially Reverend Sainvilus Point Du Jour, whom they have previously contacted to take the lead of the ministry as the Senior Pastor. That day, Reverend Sainvilus Point Du Jour has responded positively to the request made and became the Senior Pastor of the church.
Approximately, seven months later, in April 2003, the congregation left the hotel ballroom to lease a property located on 2923 South Federal highway, in Boynton Beach, where this congregation celebrated its first Easter service. In June 2003, the ministry made its grand opening by officially exposed to the public of Palm Beach County and beyond. One year later, in August 2004, God has blessed the congregation by allowing its parishioners, with the little money they had to buy the leasing property for 1.3 million of dollars. “When God approves, He provides”. As the good Hand of God was and always upon His church, Bethesda Tabernacle was never ceased to receive people who wanted to join the congregation. With that being said, the congregation numerically grew progressively day after day and after day. Be advised, in the first nine years of Bethesda Tabernacle church existence, the organization was operated independently without a mission organization. However, in August 2012, in relation with the board members and the whole congregation, Bethesda Tabernacle of the Christian Community church of Palm Beach became an affiliated member of the C&MA which changed the name to Bethesda Tabernacle of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, Inc. Starting 2002 to 2012, Bethesda Tabernacle grew from 195 members to about 800 members.
As the church effective kept increasing considerably, the parking spaces were not sufficient to accommodate the number of vehicles. Therefore, to comply with the city of Boynton Beach, the obligation was made for the congregation to relocate to another facility to comply with the insufficient parking issue. In March 2012, Bethesda Tabernacle, under the influence of the city of Boynton Beach vacated the building at 2923 South Federal Hwy, to temporary have its morning worship service at 400 South Swinton Avenue (DAF). Meanwhile, continued to meet during the evening for its Sunday night service. Couple months later, the congregation moved to Atlantic High School in Delray Beach for better comfort. While still worshipping at Atlantic High school, God did not cease to pour His blessings upon His church, as He allowed Bethesda Tabernacle church to buy a 3.5 acres of land, on which a Shelter will be built for His flocks. In 2016, in the efforts to create some type of connection with this new area which soon will be our home church, Bethesda Tabernacle decided not to have its Easter service at Atlantic High school but at L C Swain Middle school in Greenacres. We worshiped there for the rest of the month, but went back to Atlantic High School for better comfort. Meanwhile, Sunday morning worship held in Atlantic High School and Sunday night service in Lake Worth Road.
In June 2016, we decided to have our 13th anniversary on that vacate land., under a tent After the church anniversary, the congregation agreed not to go back to Atlantic High school to have its worship service, instead used the small building by having two different worship services on Sunday morning and used New Alliance Worship Center for the youth and the kids. In March 2017, to answer to some challenges, we ceased to have two worship services in the small building as well as using new Alliance church building to go to John Leonard High School where we have one worship service in the morning only.
In June 2017, just few weeks before the church 14th anniversary an unpredictable circumstance has strike Bethesda Tabernacle of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Inc. This unexpected event has caused the resignation of the senior pastor, Reverend Sainvilus Point Du Jour, after 14 years of leadership.
For nearly 7 consecutive months, the church was led by the Southeastern District assistant superintendent, Harris Campbell and Bethesda Tabernacle Board of Transition. In February, 2018, the congregation elected the Board of Elders to lead the church under the supervision of the Southeastern District assistant superintendent until a senior pastor was called. In March 2018 a search committe for the senior pastor was formed by the Board of Elders assisted with Southeastern District assistant superintendent.
Upon the final report of the search committee, in August 2018, the congregation in agreement with the Board of Elders accepted Reverend Woodler Alezy, as the Senior Pastor of Bethesda Tabernacle of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Inc. We commit to fulfill the Great commission by equipping the members and send them out to continue to preach the gospel for the growth of God’s Kingdom.
